Stornoway reports rise in Humanist ceremonies

The Stornoway Gazette is reporting a rise in demand for humanist ceremonies.

Celebrant John Howieson, from Portree, a former local head teacher said,

“I’ve always been a humanist, and so when I took my early retirement, becoming a celebrant seemed to me to be a good way to continue serving those of them for whom it’s right."

Flower arranging day was a full work day for five of us – all necivos. We made plenty of mistakes! Even though my mother in law and I had practiced this summer the flowers ordered where much sturdier and meatier than our test subjects. We had to re-group and start over several times. Disintegrating foam under the weight of too many flowers was our greatest difficulty.
