The Government intends to create many more “faith schools”, the education Minister Jim Knight has announced. In an interview with the Financial Times, Mr Knight said the majority of secondary schools would become self-governing. “I’d see more foundation schools or trust schools, National Challenge trusts, academies and, obviously, faith schools,” he said. “And that diversity and choice will be there – and I think will dominate.” National Secular Society |

The report suggested that Beijing was now the most egalitarian city in the world, just ahead of cities such as Jakarta in Indonesia and Dire Dawa in Ethiopia.
In Europe, which was generally more egalitarian than other continents, Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands and Slovenia were classed as the most equal countries with Greece, the UK and Spain among the least. Bendy-buses with the slogan "There's probably no God" could soon be running on the streets of London.
The atheist posters are the idea of the British Humanist Association (BHA) and have been supported by prominent atheist Professor Richard Dawkins. The BHA planned only to raise £5,500, which was to be matched by Professor Dawkins, but it has now raised more than £36,000 of its own accord. BBC News |
