SECULAR STUDENT CONFERENCE UK:

Leaders of secular student societies at British Universities have identified the need for better coordination and integration of our groups and movement. With this in mind, we would like to invite secular students around the UK to attend the first Secular Student Conference (SSC), which will take place in Edinburgh, 20th to 22nd of June. This is a conference for leaders of student Humanist, Atheist, Rationalist, Freethinking societies in the UK and your group is invited.

GOALS
We would like this conference to:
• Help new secular student groups take off as well as network and coordinate the activities of already established groups.
• Provide a platform for national organizations to show their support of the secular student movement.
• See the foundation of an organization dedicated to organize, unite, and coordinate students and student communities that promote the ideals of scientific and critical inquiry, secularism, and human based ethics, in the United Kingdom.

SPEAKERS
Every student group is invited to take the floor and introduce themselves formally as well as to explain their particular situation, activities that they run and plans for the future.
Additionally, representatives from national organizations will include Andrew Copson from the British Humanist Association, Alistair McBay from the National Secular Society and Tim Maguire from the Humanist Society of Scotland.
