About Me

My background and experience
My work portfolio is centred on my community. As well a being a Celebrant I work as a Home Carer, Librarian, and produce most of my communities publications. Previously I worked in advertising and ran my own computer design business. I share my life with my two wonderful daughters.

What humanism means to me
Living the one life I have with joy and intellectual rigour, taking care of and enjoying the wonderful diversity of my fellow human beings.

How I feel about being a wedding Celebrant
It is such a privilege (and great fun!) to provide the individual meaningful ceremony couples want.

My approach to weddings
Jointly creating the ceremony is process which gives me huge pleasure. I generally send a “bells & whistles” sample and we take it from there. Am happy to be as hands-on or off as the couple want.

What I love most about conducting weddings

Having completed the wonderful process of creating the wedding and getting it right, the smiles and laughter on the day are hugely heart-warming. For me it is the individuality of each wedding that makes this work so enjoyable.

My advice to you
The initially seemingly insurmountable job of writing your own vows is actually greatly beneficial as you think deeply about what you love about and offer each-other. You are setting the markers for your journey together. Keep communicating!

My favourite piece of wedding poetry
It’s not my wedding, so have no particular favourite. But I do particularly enjoy wedding guests having a part to play, either individually or communally. Well-wishings spoken by all feel loving, inclusive and powerful so I like these the most.

My favourite piece of wedding music

Live music of whatever quality provided by friends and family of the couple. The gift of their contribution always means so much to the bride & groom.

My most unusual location for a wedding to date
I have had more brides in walking boots or wellies than satin courts! Intact and ruined castles, stunning scenery and varied traditional venues are on my doorstep. I can assist with local knowledge.
I have done a wedding in a couples’ back garden and would love to do one at a kitchen table!
